How the survey and preparation take place

I carry out the survey personally, and it is free within 20 km of Brno. I will come to your home, check the route for the cooling lines from the outdoor to the indoor unit, where the outdoor unit can be installed (facade, balcony, loggia), and whether a penetration through a load-bearing wall is needed or if a lighter partition suffices. In older brick houses in the centre, walls are usually thick but straight and predictable. For panel buildings in Líšeň, Bystrc or on the Vinohrady estate, I focus more on the panel thickness and whether a core drill through the load-bearing structure is feasible. On site, I will give you an indicative price immediately: not waiting a week to call with an offer from my desk that would still need adjusting after the inspection.

The installation process step by step

• Installation of the indoor unit at the designated location, typically above a door or on an unobstructed wall away from direct drafts towards beds or sofas.
• Wall penetration and routing of refrigerant piping and cabling to the outdoor unit
• Installation of the outdoor unit on a bracket on the façade, or alternatively on a stand on a balcony or flat roof.
• Evacuation of air from the circuit (vacuuming) and pressurisation with R32 refrigerant.
• Leak test, commissioning, outlet temperature measurement and site cleanup

Installation of a standard split unit in an apartment can be completed in one working day. For a multisplit system with multiple indoor units or longer piping, allow for two days.

What affects installation costs in Brno

The price mainly depends on the length of the refrigerant piping, the floor level, higher floors in apartment blocks often mean working at height or requiring a lift platform, and the wall type. Core drilling through a reinforced concrete panel takes longer and is more demanding than passing through a brick partition. It also matters whether we are installing a single split unit or a multisplit system for several rooms at once. How much does air conditioning installation in Brno cost?

• Installation of a split unit (labour): from 8 900 Kč, standard apartment, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor unit
• Air conditioning and turnkey installation: from 28 000 Kč: a Daikin, Samsung or LG unit including installation.
• Multisplit with 2 indoor units: from 14 000 Kč for labour, depending on the length of the piping.
• Survey and quotation: free in Brno and within 20 km

The exact amount will always be confirmed after the survey: no extra charges for floor level or corner locations that would only appear on the invoice.

What to prepare before the installer arrives

You will save time if there is clear access to the wall where the indoor unit is to be installed, move furniture away and remove pictures from the surrounding wall. A free socket nearby is also useful, as well as access to the location for the outdoor unit, in a panel building this is usually a loggia or balcony, while for a detached house it is the garden or façade. If you live in a panel building and know that the building's owners' association or housing cooperative requires consent for installation, obtain it if possible before placing your order, so that the agreed installation date does not have to be postponed due to waiting for the committee's stamp.

Typical jobs I carry out in Brno

Depending on where I am going in Brno, the installation always varies slightly. In brick houses in Žabovřesky, I most often install one split unit into an apartment; in Královo Pole, it is usually a multisplit for two rooms in a detached house. In Líšeň, I mainly work on wall-mounted units in higher floors of panel blocks, while in Brno-střed, I install cassette air conditioners in offices and smaller business premises. Why installation should be carried out by those with F-gas certification

Work with R32 refrigerant, used in modern units, may legally only be carried out by a technician holding a valid F-gas certificate.
