When to book air conditioning installation so you don't have to wait
Every July I get calls from people who want an air conditioner at the last minute, and suddenly the waiting time is weeks instead of a few days.
Why there is a queue for installation in summer
May and especially July and August are the peak months for air conditioning demand across Brno, in Královo Pole, Židenice, Bystrc and Líšeň, people remember air conditioning when an attic flat or a panel building heated by all-day sun becomes unbearable. Available slots for surveying and installation are quickly dwindling, and bookings are being pushed forward by days to weeks.
Spring and autumn offer better value than you expect.
In April or September my calendar is practically free, so the installation can be scheduled for a specific day, not "sometime in July, depending on availability". Working outdoors on the façade or balcony is hardly more pleasant for the installer or for you waiting at home when it's thirty degrees of heat. In milder weather everything goes faster and without rushing, which ultimately reflects in the quality of the work done.
How long is the waiting time in Brno?
Outside the season, I usually respond to enquiries within two days, surveys are carried out within a week of first contact, and installation is completed within 7 to 10 days of ordering. During the July peak, these figures can easily double, and for larger jobs, such as a multisplit system for an entire flat or commercial air conditioning for a business premises, it may take even longer, simply because I handle more similar enquiries at once.
Planning a renovation or moving? Factor in installation beforehand.
If you are planning a flat renovation or are just moving in, it pays to include air conditioning installation in your plan during the electrical and painting preparation phase, routing cables and passing through walls is easier than when the flat is already finished and painted. In such cases, feel free to contact me several months in advance; we will then agree on the date depending on when the other trades are completed.
What affects the appointment date besides the season
Apart from the season, the weather in a given week also matters, work on the façade or roof is postponed in rain or strong wind to ensure safety for both the installer and you. That is why I always keep a small buffer in my calendar so that pressure on the deadline does not compromise installation quality.
What to do if you need installation urgently
Even during peak season, slots sometimes open up earlier, for instance if another job is postponed due to weather, call and I will tell you the current calendar status for those days. However, it is definitely not worth waiting until the last minute when it has been over thirty degrees outside for a week and available slots are dwindling every day across Brno, from Královo Pole through Židenice to Bystrc.
It pays to plan servicing and installation together.
If you are dealing with an apartment where both a new air conditioner for one room and servicing of an older unit in another are needed, schedule both for the same date, this saves a second visit from the installer and often some travel costs as well.
I answer calls at weekends too; installation is scheduled during the week.
For requests or to enquire about an appointment, feel free to call even at the weekend. I answer the phone. However, I prefer to schedule the actual installation for weekdays, when I have more daylight and a quiet environment for focused work without last-minute rushing.
When to book, even if you do not need cooling immediately.
If you know you want air conditioning for next summer, the cheapest and quickest option is to schedule installation out of season, in autumn after summer ends or early spring before the main wave of demand kicks in. The same rule applies to regular inspections. Air conditioning servicing and cleaning - Even there, you can book more easily in spring or autumn than in July, when technicians across Brno are mainly handling new installations and have fewer available slots for servicing older units.
